A hard reduction plan where we hold the decision (sites, fleet, electricity), and a supplier and logistics engagement programme for the Scope 3 that dominates the inventory.
Our own plants and vehicles are a rounding error next to the chemistry we buy and the freight it travels on. Pretending otherwise would make the reporting look tidy and the transition plan useless.
So the plan splits. On Scope 1 and 2 we commit to absolute reduction with dated site actions: renewable electricity contracting, heat recovery on blending lines, efficiency upgrades and fleet conversion. On Scope 3 we work through procurement, with emissions data requested per material, footprint requirements written into new supply agreements, and modal shift on the lanes we control.
We do not use offsets to close the gap on gross emissions. Residual removals come at the end of the pathway, once the reductions are made.
Site-by-site plans covering electricity contracting, on-site generation, heat recovery, variable-speed drives, metering to line level and conversion of owned vehicles.
Purchased goods dominate the inventory. We request emissions data per material, prioritise suppliers with verified targets, and write footprint disclosure into new agreements.
Network design first, then modal shift to rail and short-sea, load-factor targets, and lower-carbon fuels on contracted lanes where the supply exists.
Cradle-to-gate footprints issued per material so customers can report accurately instead of using a sector average that flatters or penalises them.
Scenario analysis on carbon pricing, freight cost, water stress and physical risk at key sites, feeding the capital plan rather than sitting in an appendix.
Full Scope 1 to 3 inventory rebuilt annually with the method and estimates labelled.
Dated site and fleet actions with capital allocated, not a general intention.
Supplier and carrier programmes on the 94% we do not directly control.
Assured reporting plus customer-level data on request.
A product carbon footprint, a supplier audit status, a substitution study, or a completed customer ESG questionnaire. We answer within two working days and name the person handling it.
