PEOPLE / DIVERSITY & INCLUSION

Belonging is an operating requirement, not a campaign.

A team that ships hazardous goods into eighteen jurisdictions cannot afford one point of view. Inclusion is how we keep judgement sharp, and it is measured like any other operational target.

ROLES PAY-BANDED
OUR COMMITMENT

Three principles we will not trade away

Written into the code of ethics every employee signs, and into every supplier contract we hold.

Equal treatment

Same role profile, same scored interview, same published pay band for every candidate and every employee in it.

PRINCIPLE 01
Voice

Every employee has a route to raise a concern that does not pass through the person it concerns.

PRINCIPLE 02
Access

Sites, systems and the hiring process are designed to be usable without anyone having to disclose why they need it.

PRINCIPLE 03
FOCUS AREAS

Four commitments with dates on them

Gender balance in leadership

Balanced shortlists are mandatory for every role at manager grade and above, with succession plans reviewed twice a year.

TARGET: 40% BY 2030
Local leadership in local markets

Regional businesses led by people who know the market, its regulators and its language.

TARGET: 75% BY 2030
Disability confidence

Accommodation requests answered in five working days, with a standing budget that needs no business case.

TARGET: 5 DAYS, ALWAYS
Routes in without a degree

Apprenticeships and lab technician programmes as a genuine entry path into technical and supply-chain careers.

TARGET: 25 PLACES / YEAR

What we changed in the process

Role profiles are stripped of requirements we cannot justify: degree demands removed from 40% of postings since 2024.
Names, ages and photographs are hidden at the screening stage.
Every interview panel has at least two people and a scored guide; single-interviewer decisions are not permitted.
Salary bands are published in the posting, and we never ask for current salary.
Interview questions are sent in advance to every candidate, not on request.
Rejection reasons are recorded against the role profile and audited quarterly.

ACCOMMODATIONS

How to ask, and what happens next

The same route applies whether you are a candidate or a twenty-year employee.

STEP 1
Tell one person

Email the accommodations inbox or tell your recruiter. You never need to disclose a diagnosis or provide medical evidence to start.

STEP 2
A conversation, not an assessment

Thirty minutes with an adjustments adviser about what makes work harder and what would help.

STEP 3
Decision in five working days

Funded from a central budget. Your manager is told what to put in place, not why.

STEP 4
Reviewed, not filed

Revisited every six months and carried with you automatically if you change role or site.

NEXT STEP

Anything you need to ask first?

Adjustments, visas, career breaks: the FAQ covers most of it, and a named recruiter covers the rest.
